This community event welcomes recreational to competitive walkers\, runners and wheelchair athletes.\n\n \n\n A Shadow Walk for the Physically Challenged Class will gather at Price Park Tuesday\, July 3 at noon and walk as far as they are able. All participants will receive refreshments and a race T-shirt.\n\n \n\n A 2-mile Shadow Run in Afghanistan will be lead by YMCA member Mark Sundbury\, currently serving his country in the US Army. The soldiers who run in this race will all receive the same race shirts and award medals as those who register for the July 4th Race here.\n\n \n\n The Kids' Firecracker Dash will start at 7:45 a.m. July 4th for children aged 6 and under. This short run is free\, but they must be registered before the race. They may do so in person at the YMCA front desk or until 7:30 a.m. the day of the race.\n\n \n\n Immediately following the Awards ceremony and presentation of the 4th Annual Ron Russell Perseverance Award\, there will be dancing in the streets and the North Canton Jaycees 4th of July Parade.
