You are invited to stop by the Mercy Cancer Center rotunda and view Lilly "Oncology on Canvas", a life-affirming showcase of artwork created by those diagnosed with cancer, their friends, family and caregivers.
The display is part of a biennial competition, presented by Lilly Oncology and the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship, that invites people diagnosed with cancer, as well as their families, friends, caregivers and healthcare providers, to express (through art and narrative) the life-affirming changes that give their cancer journeys meaning.
The artwork shown in the display represents entries from the 2010 US competition that resulted in donations of nearly $40,000 to cancer-related charities chosen by winners.
Mercy Cancer Center secured a selection of this artwork to help enlighten the community about the challenges and the joys of cancer survivorship.
